Welcome back to The Buzz!
Just in- Keanu Reeves has taken a rare television role! He’ll be starring in a limited series adaptation of Erik Larson’s book ‘The Devil in the White City’, a thriller surrounding a killer and the Chicago World Fair in 1893.
Not only will Reeves have an on screen role in the series, but Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese also have signed on for roles as producers on the show as well after 12 years of trying to develop this project.
A recent big name in Hollywood is Austin Butler, after just starring in the Elvis biopic (which, if you haven’t seen yet, go!!!). This fall, he’s going to be starting work on a new Jeff Nichols film called “The Bikeriders”.
Butler will be starring alongside Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy in this adaptation that follows the rise of a fictional, midwestern motorcycle club.
Starz announced this week that they’ve picked up a new series called ‘Blood of my Blood’, which is going to be a prequel series to Outlander, just about the same time that HBO Max announced that they’re possibly cutting scripted dramas. I haven’t found a definitive answer, but it’s looking like about 70% of scripted development is going to be cut from the upcoming HBO Max lineup.
‘Days Of Our Lives’, popular NBC soap opera, is going to be making a move to Peacock in September, and the release of She-Hulk, which is scheduled to drop on Disney+, will be pushed back one day and will now debut on Thursday, August 18th.
Finally, for television news, Ellen Pompeo, who portrays Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy, is going to be reducing her screen time on the upcoming season of the show after reportedly picking up a new project with Hulu.
Lastly, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend just announced that they are expecting their third child!
See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz and we’ll be back on air Friday morning as well to give you the latest Hollywood scoop!
