This was a huge week for Big Bang Theory fans. We’ve talked on The Buzz recently about how this is the final season of Young Sheldon but that there’s another spin off in the works which creators have been light lipped on when it comes to plot details.
This week, they announced that the new show will follow Georgie and Mandy (Montana Jordan and Emily Osment) – who are Sheldon’s older brother and his fiance on Young Sheldon.
According to the logline, the new show follows “Georgie and Mandy as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.”
There is currently no name, episode count, or release date for the series yet, but it might be safe to assume it could start airing as soon as the fall, considering Young Sheldon will air its series finale on May 16th.
Unlike Young Sheldon, this new series will be shot in front of a live audience, just like Big Bang Theory was. The new series will be penned by Young Sheldon co-creators Chuck Loore and Steven Molaro as well as Steve Holland, a Big Bang Theory alum and the Young Sheldon showrunner.
It was also announced this week that Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons will be reprising their roles as Amy and Sheldon in the Young Sheldon finale for the first time since Big Bang Theory ended back in 2019! If the series finale is anything like the Big Bang Theory finale, I would have some tissues ready while you watch – be prepared for that heartwarming nostalgia!
Speaking of nostalgia, New Kids on the Block are making their very own comeback and releasing a new album on May 17th called Still Kids. This is their first album release in 11 years and they’ve already released a single called Kids, which you can listen to below.
They will be performing that single live for the first time today on the Kelly Clarkson Show at 3pm on NBC if you’re interested!
For another boost of nostalgia, Justin Timberlake’s new album comes out a week from today and he announced that there is an *NSYNC single on the album!
Still not a reunion per se, but we’re taking steps in the right direction!
Lindsay Lohan also confirmed that Freaky Friday 2 is officially happening! It’s been in talks for awhile now, but Lohan confirmed this month in an interview with Andy Cohen that it’s officially greenlit!
