Wow, we haven’t had a week where so much happened in Hollywood in MONTHS!
If you’re looking for new music, John Oates released a new LP and it’s out TODAY! The album is called Reunion and it’s his sixth solo studio album. You can listen to it here.
I haven’t gotten around to listening to the album yet, but my favorite John Oates song is one called High Maintenance which features my favorite band Hot Chelle Rae. You can listen to that song here.
And check out the video below – it’s a short interview with John and Ryan Follese (from Hot Chelle Rae) about the making of the song.
If you’re a fan of John’s, don’t forget that he’s going to be in Beverly, MA on August 24th and you can grab tickets on this site!
I also saw this funny thing online yesterday called Callin’ Oates – it’s a hotline that you can call to listen to Hall and Oates. That number is (719) 266-2837 (or, 719-26-OATES). If you call, it gives you four different Hall and Oates songs you can choose to listen to.*
The Jeopardy franchise also released some exciting news this week. They’re going to be coming back with a new Jeopardy series (in addition to the beloved series that is on tv now) and it’s going to focus all on pop culture.
Per the press release, contestants will be in teams of three and have to be experts when it comes to pop culture. The series is going to be on Prime and there is no host announced yet.
If you’re a Beach Boys fan, next Friday, don’t miss out on the new Beach Boys film. Disney+ describes the film as “a celebration of the band that revolutionized pop music, captivating fans for generations to come”. Check out the trailer below:
In order to get you even more excited for the film, tune in with us today between 9am and 5pm and anytime you hear us play a Beach Boys song, give us a buzz at (508) 746-9991. If you’re caller #10, you’ll instantly win a pair of tickets to see The Beach Boys at the Music Circus this August!
As for plans for what to watch this weekend, the long-awaited third season of Bridgerton dropped on Netflix yesterday and you can watch it here. The new Amy Winehouse biopic is also out today, as is the new Jonathan Krasinski movie IF.
Speaking of John Krasinski, it’s full steam ahead for the new Office series! Steve Carell, though, has spoken out saying that as excited as he is for the new show, he will not be making any appearances.
If you’ve been keeping up with the news regarding the new Legally Blonde series that Reese Witherspoon is going to be producing, you’ve probably heard by now that the new series will be about Elle Woods’ high school/teenage years. There is no news on casting or production yet, but it’s exciting to see a brand new Elle Woods story we’ve never seen before! I’m excited to see who they will cast as Elle.
Here’s some more news on upcoming productions:
Ellen is releasing her “last [comedy] special” on Netflix later this year
Wicked Musical Movie
The release date for Wicked is getting closer – it’s going to be released on Thanksgiving this year.

The Summer I Turned Pretty
Production on the third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty has begun, but it we won’t be seeing it until 2025
On the bright side, the series has been supersized, so we’ll be getting three more episodes than season two
Young Sheldon Spin Off
Young Sheldon officially aired its season finale last night, and boy was it a tear jerker! I can’t remember the last time I cried that much over a tv series. I won’t spoil anything, but rest assured, the writers did each of those characters justice and I’m so excited for the new spin off this fall and getting to see more of Georgie and Mandy and their journey as a family!
Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is set to take Young Sheldon’s spot in the CBS fall slate and we learned this week that Mandy’s parents will be appearing on the new series as regulars. You can read more about the series here.
Lastly, Springsteen fans, this one’s for you! There’s a documentary coming to Hulu and Disney+ in October titled Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The film will show Springsteen and his band as they prepared for their first tour in six years and will also cover highlights from the tour, Springteen’s creative process, and show you what it might’ve been like to be a fly on the wall on tour!
See you back here next week!
