It’s a sad week for Huey Lewis fans – it was announced this week that after less than 100 shows on Broadway, The Heart of Rock and Roll will be closing on June 23rd.
But, with one closing comes another opening! Prince’s Purple Rain is currently being adapted for the stage!
Purple Rain is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and producers are projecting the show will open next spring and then possibly move to Broadway. The show will follow the film closely, but will likely include more of Prince’s music than was featured in the movie because only 9 of Prince’s songs were in it.
Check out this article for more info! There’s tons more to learn about the show.
If you’re looking for something to watch now, Celine Dion’s new documentary I am: Celine Dion which depicts her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome as well as the music that has guided her will be on Prime on June 25th! I haven’t seen all of these shows, but some of these lines truly are iconic. My favorite definitely has to be “Hello, Brother” from Vampire Diaries – I couldn’t stop the tears from falling when Ian Somerhalder delivered this line – and I also loved the last line of Young Sheldon. Let us know which ones are your favorite!
