If you’re a fan of Ed Sheeran, now’s your time to shine! Ed is in town right now operating his pop up pub the Old Phone.
The Old Phone is located in Ipswich, MA and while it’s being used for a music video shoot for his new single Old Phone, it’s also a fully operational pub for one day only!
Fans were able to ‘win’ their way into the pub by sending Ed screenshots of a text message or video from an old phone that means a lot to them and makes them feel nostalgic, and afterwards, they were going to project those messages on the wall in the pub.
Speaking of nostalgia, work on the Legally Blonde prequel series Elle is well underway and the casting announcements keep coming! Not only have the roles of Elle and her parents been announced – Lexi Minetree, June Diane Raphael, and Tom Everett – Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovits, and Chandler Kinney have now joined the cast as well.
Something else that might bring you back is the publicity that The Hunger Games is getting at the moment. Not only was the series’ newest book Sunrise on the Reaping released last week, tickets for the newly adapted stage show also went on sale this week. You can view those here.

New projects you can look forward to are a Friday the 13th prequel on Peacock, Boston Blue on CBS this fall with Donnie Wahlberg, and a live action Scooby-Doo series headed to Netflix. As for movies, there is a new Wes Anderson movie set for a release later this year, teasers for the new Peaky Blinders keep coming, Ralph Macchio has addressed the potential for a My Cousin Vinny sequel, I Know What You Did Last Summer is headed to theaters on July 18th, and Jon M Chu is working on a Britney Spears biopic based off of her memoir The Woman in Me (2023).
In terms of music, the Jonas Brothers are set to record a new theme song for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. The single will stream on May 13th and celebration in the parks begins on May 16th and will continue through the summer 2026. Miley Cyrus is also releasing a new album on May 30th and Lizzo is set to play Rosetta Tharpe in an upcoming biopic.
As for theater this week, Idina Menzel is continuing her run in Redwood through the summer on Broadway! I saw the show last weekend and if you’re a fan of Idina’s or simply looking for a new and unique show, I’d highly recommend it! A musical based off of the movie Beaches is also going to be going on a national tour late next year.
If you’re looking for a new book, a prequel to Wicked was just released. It’s called Elphie and it explores Elphaba’s childhood before the events in Wicked and prior to The Wizard of Oz as well.
