Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
If you’re feeling the love this weekend – or, if you’re not, but wish you were! – there are tons of great things streaming this weekend to get you in the spirit of love.
Waitress the Musical is on Max beginning today! This is the first time the movie has been on any streamer and it stars Sara Bareilles, Drew Gehling, Caitlin Houlihan, and so many other talented individuals! The story follows Jenna (Bareilles) who enters a baking competition that will earn her enough money to leave her husband and their loveless marriage. Along the way, she finds out that she’s expecting, strengthening her bonds with her coworkers and even finds love along the way.
I’ve been a fan of this musical for almost a decade, so I’m thrilled that more people will be able to see it now and experience the magic of Waitress. Sara Bareilles wrote the music for the musical, went on to star in the production, and also met her future husband through the show and she speaks more about this and the special place Waitress will always hold in her heart in a fantastic article that you can read here.
Check out the trailer below and watch the musical in its entirety on Max now!
The original Waitress film, which the musical is based off of, is also streaming on Max and stars Kerri Russell and Nathan Fillion.
Other romcoms you can check out this weekend are Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy on Peacock and La Dolce Villa on Netflix. The new season of The White Lotus also premieres on Sunday on Max. Captain America is also in theaters now too!
We’ve talked a little bit about the new Legally Blonde prequel series Elle which is in the works at Amazon and news dropped this week that they finally cast Elle! Check out the video below of Reese Witherspoon, the original Elle Woods, breaking the news to Lexi Minetree, who they just cast as Elle.
Taylor Lautner, best known of course for his role in the Twilight saga films, is back in the most unexpected of ways! He will be starring in Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, which begins right after filming for the Twilight films wrapped. In the series, “Playing himself, Taylor is drawn into a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise…as he navigates his double life—Hollywood actor by day, supernatural warrior by night—Taylor must wrestle with the ultimate irony: fighting the very creatures that made him famous. Between saving the world, reviving his career, and falling in love, he faces the ultimate question—what happens when your biggest role becomes your greatest enemy?”

The first novel of the Twilight saga is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and in honor of the anniversary, they are releasing a new print of the novel with a foil-stamped slipcase, a new cover with new art on the inside and outside covers, and more. If you want to see or want to pre-order a copy, check it out here! The book will be released on September 30th.

Doctor Odyssey is also coming back next month, Melissa O’Neil weighed in on the most recent episode of The Rookie, Jackie Tohn has been promoted to a series regular on the upcoming season of Nobody Wants This, and there’s supposedly a new Big Bang Theory spin off in the works. If you’ve watched Sweet Magnolias on Netflix and want to learn more about where the show was filmed, check out this article. The show is filmed in one of my favorite places, Covington, Georgia, so I love seeing articles highlighting this southern city!
