If you’re missing the Olympics like I am, you can still get a taste of the Games this Fall!
They announced yesterday that Stephen Nedoroscik, a Worcester native warmly regarded as Pommel Horse Guy, is headed to Dancing with the Stars! The new season premieres September 17th on ABC and Disney+.
The rest of the Dancing with the Stars cast has not been announced yet, but when it is, I will be sure to share it with all of you!
As for female gymnasts, Simone Biles also has the second half of her Netflix docuseries set for release on October 25th. The first two episodes dropped on Netflix just before the Olympics in July and have explored her journey since the Tokyo Games and getting back to the Olympics this year. There are two more episodes that are being released and if they’re anything like the first two, they’re sure to impress!
Another athlete who’s been in the headlines lately is Travis Kelce. Word on the street is that he’s going to be making his film debut! He has signed on for a film called Loose Cannons about two out of control police officers who partner up. There is no casting yet and no official filming or release date, but it’s likely they won’t start filming until after the Super Bowl.
Another film that he’s going to be making an appearance in is the Happy Gilmore sequel. As for tv, he’s going to be in a tv series called Grotesquerie with Neicy Nash which debuts on September 25th. Kelce will also be hosting the new celebrity iteration of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader with Prime.
As for music, Alex Van Halen has a memoir coming out on October 22nd called Brothers.
He describes the book as being a tribute to his late brother Eddie Van Halen and it’s his way of saying goodbye to his brother. The audiobook of the memoir will be especially special because it will feature an unreleased song called Unfinished, which is the last piece of music Alex wrote with Eddie. The song will be heard as Alex narrates his story.
Funnily enough, Chick-Fil-A has plans to hatch their own streaming network. They want to have a platform of family friendly programs, particularly unscripted programs, including a family friendly game show. There’s also talks of scripted projects and animation. They want to launch later this year.
The release date for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is quickly approaching and in LA, they’re opening a Beetlejuice Immersive Experience. There will be set recreations, photo opportunities, live entertainment, and more! I know we don’t live in LA, but I bring this up in hopes that as the movie does well in the box office, the experience will move its way around the country.

If you’re a Netflix fan, Anya Taylor-Joy, known primarily for her role in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, is headed back to Netflix for a series called How to Kill Your Family. Millie Bobby Brown is also working with Netflix for a film adaptation of her book Nineteen Steps.
The release date for the Wicked film is getting closer and closer and new teasers are continuing to get released. Check out the newest one below.
In terms of TV, television icon Greg Berlanti – a creative force behind SO many iconic shows and films such as Arrow, The Flash, Dawson’s Creek, Red, White & Royal Blue, The Tomorrow People, and so much more – is being honored with the Governors Award at the Emmys next month.
Glen Powell, who’s been in the news pretty steadily since the release of Anyone But You in December of last year – is heading back to television! He starred on Scream Queens back in the 2010s, but has been doing mostly film since.
I’m unsure of the release date, but Powell is going to be on a Hulu series called Chad Powers which is about a college quarterback [Powell] who is struggling to revive his football career. The story and character Chad Powers was created by Eli Manning for the ESPN+ docuseries Eli’s Places after he went undercover trying to learn more about the walk-on process for college football. Take a look at the first photos of Powell that have been released from the series.
Lastly, Deadpool has remained in the news for yet another week!
If you’ve seen Deadpool and Wolverine, you know that they included a handful of different Deadpool variants in the film and they released some other variants this week that didn’t make it into the film. Check them out here. It was also announced that Deadpool & Wolverine is the highest grossing R-rated film ever!
